Hello! My name is Mylee and I’d like to welcome you to my little corner of the internet!

You’ve come to the right place if you want:

  4. A break from your daily routine for a quick chuckle

In 2015, I created this blog to fulfill my need and desire to write. I named it “Just Me, Mylee” because I knew that I wanted to write about random things that came up in my life as a working mom of three living in the city of San Francisco. Over time it evolved into a lifestyle blog featuring my daily (or almost daily) musings as a mother of three with frequent highlights of this beautiful city by the bay.

But that didn’t last long.

I soon realized that I enjoyed writing self-help type blog posts more than I liked writing about my hometown. I also loved including my own experiences in my stories because it had an inexplicable therapeutic effect on me.

A new purpose for my blog was born:

To positively inspire and motivate readers by sharing my life experiences as a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister and a friend.

Eventually, I started feeling like the name “Just Me, Mylee” didn’t accurately represent what I was trying to do with this blog. It was time for a change.

Coincidentally, I’ve been going through a bit of a change myself. Those close to me know that I’ve been walking with more spring in my step, very much excited about the direction my life is going in. Saying yes to the things that bring me joy and focusing on more walking the walk than on talking the talk really has had a positive effect on me. Truth be told, I don’t really know where this up-tick is going to take me but I do know that I’m enjoying the journey.

And guys, I’m a sharer. Whenever I come across an amazing idea, or find a fabulous new product, or had success in trying something new out I want to share it with everyone around me. If I feel good, I want everyone else to feel good, too. Why not, right? Everyone happy.

Which brings me back to my blog. I’ve modified my purpose a little bit:

To positively inspire and motivate readers to find their path to happy by sharing my life experiences as a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister and a friend.

And with this modified purpose came my new blog name:

“Your Path To Happy”

Let me break it down for you.

“Your” is because there isn’t one guide for being happy. Everyone has their own definition of happiness and criteria for what makes them happy. Using “the”assumes that there’s only one way to get to happy. But using “your” implies that it’s an individual thing. Each person will have their own way.

“Path” is because getting to and staying in your happy place is a journey. It won’t happen overnight. Also, this path goes two ways. We are not always going to be happy. There are going to be days that are just downright shitty. But here’s the thing: you’ll learn what your path to happy looks like so whenever you veer off course or start going in the opposite direction, you know how to find your way back.

“Happy” is because, well, it’s self-explanatory. Everyone wants to be and deserves to be happy in their lives whatever it may be, wherever they may be. Regardless of race, religion, gender or social status. I’ll say it again, everyone deserves be happy.

So what makes me the expert on getting to happy?

Absolutely nothing.

Aside from the fact that I generally lean towards being a glass-half-full type of person, I’m no expert on happiness. I would never claim to be one either.

But you know what? I’m actively progressing along on own my path to happy. Earlier I mentioned that I was a sharer. Well, I’m also a gatherer. I’ve gathered so much information on happiness and how to be happy from books, podcasts, websites and other blogs. I’ve definitely learned a thing or two about what it takes to cultivate a happy life. And by way of this blog I will share it all with you.

Whether it’s a few ideas on how to handle any situation with more positivity, tips for being more productive in various facets of life or tools to add to your arsenal of social skills, you’re likely to find it here on this blog. If it resonates with you, fantastic. If it takes you one step further in your path to happy, even better.

And if all it does is bring a smile to your face on a day where you could definitely use it, well, that’s all I’m really asking for.

Who is Mylee?

I’m a working mother of three living in San Francisco, the beautiful city by the bay. While I can’t say I was born and raised in the city, my family arrived here from the Philippines when I was one so I’d say I’m pretty close. I headed 80 miles south for my college years in Santa Cruz but came back after and have been here ever since.

I’m a happiness-seeker and a self-improvement junkie who admits to sometimes indulging in a bit of navel-gazing but also engages in behavior motivated purely by altruism.
