Today I want to take a quick minute to give thanks to my good friends, my tried-and-trues, my ride-or-dies, my girls, my homies, my dudes, my FAM. I’m pretty sure they all know how much I appreciate each an everyone of them but I want to have something in black and white to show them just how thankful I am to have them in my life.
Thank you to the ones who are always there for me, no matter what, when my life is at its best or when things just plain suck. You celebrate my successes with me and are the first ones to come to my side when I’m feeling low, whether or not I send out an S.O.S. I know I could never get rid of you even if I tried.
Thank you to the ones who put up with my bullshit and just nod their heads, listen and support me in silence.
Thank you to the ones who see right through my bullshit, call me out on it, sometimes even let me step in it and then shift me back into focus. You don’t know how much I need that slice of humble pie when you shove it in my face.
Thank you to the ones who support every single one of my cockamamie ideas like writing that teen novel or even starting this blog. Your non-judgmental support of me gives me the courage to keep doing these things.
Thank you to the ones who share my love for Bay Area sports. Together we wonder what in the world is happening with the Niners, suffer through Giants torture then remind each other to cheer up because the Warriors season is right around the corner.
Thank you to the ones who are my concert buddies, who cross state lines with me to follow my (our) favorite bands. You are exactly who I need by my side when I throw a hissy fit because Nick Rhodes is missing from Duran Duran’s tour lineup or when my New Edition fave Ricky looks past me even when I’m sitting front and center flailing my arms wildly in an attempt to get his attention.
Thank you to those who I rarely see. We all have different lives to live and it could be weeks or months since we’ve seen each other but we find a way to pick up exactly where we left off.
Thank you to those I see on a daily basis, who laugh at me when I fall but are the first ones to pick me up. You guys remind me that true friendship isn’t measured by how long you’ve known each other.
Thank you to all of my good friends. You are my support system, my blessings, my angels, my partners-in-crime. I only hope that I can be even a fraction of the friend that you are to me.
I love you all!
Special shoutout to J and L, with whom I’ve recently learned why knowing the difference between swiping left and swiping right is crucial.
